An Introduction to Event Safety Management
This introductory 1 day course provides a background to the safety issues that should be taken into account when planning, organising and running an event. It includes venue evaluation, safe site design, risk assessment, emergency planning and contractor management.
IOSH Managing Safely (in Events)
This 4½ day training course is aimed at those Managers and Supervisors within the events industry sector who have to manage risk and resources for an Event. This course aims to provide delegates with the background and skills to assist them to manage competently.
Emergency planning – Principles and Practice
A 1 day workshop to assist all those involved with emergency planning for events taking delegates through topics such as site planning, management of crowds, fire safety, site security, communication procedures and first aid/medical requirements. This course includes practical syndicate exercises.
Risk Assessing Your Event- Principles & Practice
The 1 day ‘principles’ session is supported by a 1 day ‘practice’ workshop. The course is aimed at Event Organisers and those involved with preparing and evaluating contractors risk assessments. Whilst knowledge of the Law is required (and is cover during the course) the input and workshop focuses upon the practical risk assessment process and looks at the evaluation and appropriateness of ‘practical’ control solutions. It also provides guidance on recording mechanisms.
Firework Display Safety Management
This 1 day workshop includes the pre planning of a fireworks event, managing contractors, emergency planning, crowd safety management, risk assessment and also includes amongst other areas, legal and industry ‘best practice’ guidance. This is a ‘must’ for all organisers, managers and contractors involved in the production of firework and pyrotechnical displays.
Fairground Safety – a Landlords guide
A 1 day course aimed at providing ‘responsible persons’ and those ‘persons in charge’ (local council landlords and others) with guidance on liabilities and responsibilities when renting or allowing use of their land/property for mobile fairgrounds events. The course covers the legislative responsibilities and roles, gathering information for organisers/operators and event safety monitoring.
Event Safety Management (For Charitable and Voluntary Organisations)
Aimed at the smaller events this 1 day workshop provides information and guidance on planning and managing safety at events such as car boot sales, fetes, small fairs and other charitable events. The workshop also includes practical sessions on risk assessment.
Circus Safety – a Landlords guide
This day long course is aimed at landlords and event managers who allow or are engaging a Circus to provide entertainment on their land or part of their event. The programme takes a look at current legislation that is applicable, checks on the Circus Operator before engagement and practical consideration to ensure a safe Circus event.
