IOSH Managing Safely
Our IOSH Managing Safely Certificate programme utilises our vast experience in the Education sector from over 20 years of experience assisting a wide range of schools colleges and universities meet their legal duties. This 4.5 day programme enables those with responsibilities in the education sector to understand responsibilities, management, risk assessment , investigation and monitoring of everyday safety and health
Fire Evacuation Officer Training
This half day programme is specifically designed for all those involved in fire evacuation of an educational premise, particularly those who have a teaching role.
The programme links directly with the Fire Warden / Marshal training programmes, but focus upon the teaching and teaching assistants role, which is often not covered unless they attend a specified Fire Warden / Marshal programme.
The programme can also include specific training for those working in SEN Departments, who have to prepare and implement Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs).
We offer the opportunity to run the programme on inset days and after school hours.
First Aid & Paediatric First Aid
We offer a full range of First Aid training, including the 3 day First Aid at Work certificate, 2 day refresher, Defib, Paediatric First Aid, Appointed Person in the Workplace.
Our programmes are delivered by Paramedic proffesionals who also provide ‘first aid cover’ for events and trips, so you can be sure of the most up to date practical hands on training.
Out for Hire
With many educational establishments hiring out parts of their premises to assist in income generation.
Salvus offers a range of programmes that include Fire Safety for the Responsible Person and Health & Safety programmes that assist the educational establishment to prepare policies, procedures, hire agreements and other documentation.
The programmes also includes practical sessions on managing layouts of rooms, hall and other facilities.
Managing Safety at Educational Events
This 1 day programme concentrates on providing practical guidance and information when your educational establishment is planning small to large events such as firework displays, fetes, open days and a range of events where members of the public are invited onto the education premise.
Managing Health & Safety on Work Experience
Salvus offers a range of programmes for those organising and planning work experience for students.
From a basic introductory day, through to a full IOSH Managing Safely Certificate, the focus is upon those organising placements to ensure pupils are kept safe throughout their placement period.
Planning and Managing your Educational Visits
This half day programme provides delegates with practical guidance on planning and supporting educational visits.
With much recent press on safety management during educational visits this programme disperses the myths giving guidance on risk assessment management and monitoring throughout the visit, enabling staff to concentrate on providing safe educational visits for all.
Health & Safety for School Governors
With many educational establishments relying heavily on their Governors this 3 hour programme provides Governors with a basic understanding of safety legislation for educational establishments and the role that they play within it.
A further 3 hour programme to assist nominated Governors undertake safety tours, as part of their termly audits and checks, can also be provided as part of the Governors programme.
