Asbestos Awareness

Salvus has developed over many years Asbestos Awareness training programmes aimed at staff members, supervisors and managers.  We present interactive training programmes that enable delegates to be aware of the hazards and risks posed by asbestos and the levels of management controls that should be implemented. Our basic awareness programme also extends to supervisors and managers who have the responsibility of overseeing asbestos removal and management. Our tailored programmes provide a direct fit with organisational arrangements for the management of asbestos in accordance with current legislation and best practice.

Asbestos Awareness Programme

This half day programme provides awareness for all levels of staff and management and is an essential tool for on going safe management of asbestos and asbestos containing materials.  The programme includes:-

• What asbestos is and why it was used
• ill health effects associated with asbestos
• where asbestos and asbestos containing materials can be found and what they look like
• legislation and organisational standards
• sources of information for asbestos management
• emergency procedures

This interactive programme raises delegates awareness and utilises the HSE’s guidance and videos to support the learning objectives.

Asbestos Management for Supervisors & Managers

This 1 day programme is aimed at Supervisors and Managers who have the responsibility for the day to day management of asbestos and asbestos containing materials in buildings.  Starting with an introduction and basic awareness the interactive programme extends to management responsibilities for this highly evocative material. The programme includes:-

• assessing the risks
• the Asbestos Management Plan
• information, instruction & training requirements
• unlicensed and licensed work
