General Fire Safety Training
In addition to our ‘accredited’ and ‘management focussed’ fire safety training we provide you with a range of ‘general’ fire related training programmes. Listed below are some of our most popular programmes, but we continue to develop more, to meet your needs.
Fire Safety Awareness
We offer a range of general Fire Safety Awareness training which can be included as part of induction, introduction and refresher programmes and vary in length from 1 hr to 1 day dependent upon the level of information required, but will always include the basic requirements to comply with legislation and best practice.
Fire Wardens/Marshals
This half day course aims to provide fire safety instruction for managers/supervisors and those responsible for implementing and maintaining fire safety management procedures in the workplace. The role includes elements that cover both ‘active management’ and emergency response.
Evacuation Officer
This half day programme is aimed at staff members who’s Organisations require supervisory managers to assist the Fire Warden/Marshal to evacuate the premises. Salvus has provided this safety critical training to members of schools, those managing events, stewards. This course focuses upon the safe evacuation of all persons from premises and includes ‘assisted evacuation’.
Fire Safety Coordinator
This one day training programme is designed for all those appointed by their organisation’s management team to assist them in the overall fire risk management on their premises or site. Each programme is delivered with the delegates workplace in mind so whether a factory, warehouse, construction site or office, the programme is tailored to meet the needs of the relevant formative guidance from organisations such as HM Government, Scottish Government, Northern Ireland Government or HSE. - Roles and Responsibilities
- Site Documentation
- Primary Fire Hazards (premises based exercise)
- Understanding the Risks
- Prevention and Protection (premises based exercise)
- Planning and Implementing Evacuation Procedures
- Fire Safety Audits and Inspections
Selection & Use of Portable Fire Extinguishers
This half day course provides competency based, practical training, on the correct selection and use of portable fire extinguishers. It meets the requirements of current Fire and Health & Safety legislation requiring that those who may select and use fire fighting equipment can do this safely .
