The National Examining Board in Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH) has been modernising its qualifications in line with statutory guidelines which has resulting in unitising the Certificate level qualifications.
From December 2007 the full range of NEBOSH Certificate Programmes will be available in units.
The unitised structure gives students an opportunity to:-
- Sit all examinations and the practical qualifications at one siting or
- Spread their studies out taking a unit at a time (providing that all units are achieved within 5 years) or
- Simply choose to study a single unit for example for Continuous Professional Development purposes
Each qualification (General Health & Safety, Fire Safety and Construction Health & Safety) will consist of a number of units assessed separately, students can choose to take the examined units in any order and will receive a certificate denoting their achievement for each unit they pass. When all units making up the qualification have been successfully passed the student will receive the award parchment.
